In recent years, young people have often felt confused about future development and the way forward, and have been unable to fully realize their potential. Such a social environment often makes teenagers become negative, even have emotional problems, and feel hopeless about the future.  Lions Club of Central hopes that through various activities, it will not only bring new knowledge to young people, but also provide them with an opportunity to display their talents, balance their lives, and better adapt to different environments and face challenges. In addition, adolescents need to connect with others and gain approval from others. Therefore, in the “Flying Youth” series of activities, we provide opportunities to interact with others, learn to connect and develop their own strengths.

More than two and half year has passed since the outbreak of COVID-19.  This pandemic  has hit hardest on the underprivileged communities with unprecedented mental and financial challenges especially in the shortages of food, clothing and transportation expenses; thus causing a lot of stress amongst these families.

In view of this, Lions Club of Central would like to organise a series of projects to promote positive reading through online and offline events to help needy single parents and families to strengthen love, care, hope and self-confidence in their families.

Training these parents with storytelling skill can help them to effectively communicate with their children and improve their relationship.

On the other hand, through professionally trained Central members and volunteers team to tell stories to children and possibly train the students to be good storytellers can also help them build confidence and generate positive energy among these families.

The COVID-19 pandemic is raging imposing threats on personal health, employment, and social interaction which in turn lead to the deterioration in overall mental health. In view of this, The Lions Club of Central develops its 30th Anniversary Theme Service Project with the hope to achieve a healthy body and mind through the five sensory functions of the human body: vision, smell, hearing, taste, and touch. We hope to minimize the impact of the epidemic.

With COVID-19 bringing uncertainty and challenges we’ve never faced before, it’s completely natural if our stress levels have gone up.  During this worrying and challenging time, we know we need to have balance and healthy life. It is our aim to promote and enhance public awareness of managing mental health & staying well through various kinds of services.

In response to the tremendous challenges brought by the sudden outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), members of Lions Club of Central sensed that elderlies living alone would encounter many difficulties during the fight against the pandemic. Therefore, in addition to donating anti-epidemic materials to many elderly centers, a professional team was invited to cooperate in shooting a series of video clips to teach the correct way to wear masks and wash hands to prevent COVID-19. We’ve also invited TCM doctors to teach nutritious soups, chiropractors to teach fitness gymnastics. The short films would be posted to various social platforms and distributed through different media to benefit the general public.
