Jointly organized with the Youth College, this impactful 3-day exchange tour took place from March 20 to 22, 2026. Fully sponsored by our Charter Member Dr. Sandra Leung and supported by the Eagle Golf Service Team of Guangdong Lions Clubs, President Lion Fanny Chan led a group of local students and teachers to visit Shenzhen, Foshan, and Guangzhou. The itinerary offered premium exposure to industrial innovations, including the automation lines of FAW-Volkswagen, national defense tech achievements, and a breathtaking drone formation flight show. To maximize student engagement, a multimedia video and presentation competition was integrated. The three outstanding student winners were invited to present at our regular dinner meeting and awarded cash rewards. The journey successfully expanded the students’ technological horizons, ignited their career determination in the innovation sector, and deepened their understanding of the region’s vast development blueprint.

Invited by the District 303 Prevention of Liver Disease Education Committee and partnered with the Neighborhood Advice-Action Council, our Club launched a critical health screening service in Tung Chung on January 27, 2026. Respecting religious and cultural practices, the activity was held prior to Ramadan. We specifically arranged female technicians, professional translators, and provided customized gift bags with culturally appropriate food items. The service achieved profound impact, completing liver scans (FibroScan) for 155 ethnic minorities from the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, revealing a concerning 64% fatty liver prevalence along with 5 severe cirrhosis cases. Additionally, vascular disease risk assessments were completed for 163 residents. Attended by District Governor Lion Sandy Leung, this project successfully filled a vital health gap for vulnerable groups, enabling medical follow-ups and allowing the center to provide tailored wellness guidance to these underserved families.

• Organized by our Club and co-organized by the Central Leo Club, this heartwarming event was successfully held on January 17, 2026, at the Tsiu Hang Lions Nature Education Centre in Sai Kung. Strongly supported by the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Children’s Kidney Foundation, and Smart Youth Society, the project was led by President Lion Fanny Chan and fully sponsored by Creation (Hong Kong) Limited. Our dedicated Lions accompanied chronically ill children and their families to reconnect with nature through interactive educational visits to the Agriculture, Insect, and Fishery Pavilions. The families also enjoyed a wonderful outdoor lunch at the JC Smart Restaurant, a social enterprise empowering hearing-impaired individuals. The event beautifully demonstrated our core value of “spreading love,” offering relaxing and empowering moments for the children while promoting social inclusion and goodwill within the community.

On November 9, the Lions Club of Central, in collaboration with the Ta Kwu Ling Kei Lok Community, successfully hosted the “Elderly Month Respecting the Aged Poon Choi Feast,” bringing together over a hundred elderly residents, volunteers, and Leo members.

The event featured a practical seminar by Sergeant “Yin Gor” on preventing online scams to safeguard elderly safety, followed by a welcome speech and appreciation certificate presentation by Founding President Lion Mary Ho. During the feast, senior citizens enjoyed festive food alongside vibrant music and dance performances. A special highlight included distributing lucky red packets to elders aged 90 and above, followed by blessing gift bags given to all attendees at the end.

This elderly care service has been running dedicatedly for 10 consecutive years, embodying the club’s profound respect and commitment to the elderly who laid the foundation of our society.

• Collaborating with the Wong Tai Sin District Office and youth volunteers, our Club successfully organized a digital inclusion and wellness project on October 18, 2025. The event provided smart retinal and cardiovascular AI health screenings for over 120 underprivileged elderly residents. During the waiting time, youth volunteers established interactive “digital tea stations” to guide the elderly in utilizing AI tools for daily queries, health management apps, and creating electronic cards. This meaningful initiative empowered senior citizens to regain digital autonomy and confidence while bridging the generational gap. By infusing cutting-edge technology with human warmth, the project served as a beautiful bridge for family affection and successfully wove a stronger net of community inclusion.

On July 30, 2025, the Special Olympics Hong Kong, Lion Club of Central, and Leo Club of Central jointly organized the “Special Olympics Family Health Forum” at Shatin Public School.Under the theme of “Positive Parenting”, social workers and parents shared positive mindsets while promoting the benefits of regular exercise. The venue featured various booths, including simple games, colored candle crafts, Chinese medical consultations, and cardiovascular risk assessments.Participants who collected all stamps on their registration cards received Special Olympics souvenirs and a lucky bag filled with soup packs, biscuits, tea leaves, and other supplies to care for their physical and mental health.
