At the beginning of 2006, the Board of Directors of the Lions Club of Central approved the establishment of the “Lions Club of Central Charity Foundation Limited.” The Foundation aims to provide a tax-relief channel for generous donors and consolidate community donations, offering robust financial management to support our Club in organizing more social services for the elderly and underprivileged.

The Lions Club of Central has always been dedicated to pooling the love, passion, and resources of our members and all sectors of society. Throughout the 2025/2026 fiscal year, under the leadership of our Club and with the active participation of 20 Lions, 17 Leo, and 28 Omega Leo members, we successfully held 24 Regular Meetings and 12 Board Meetings.

This year, the Lions Club of Central drove 8 core community service projects. Thanks to the selfless dedication of 81 Lions, 19 Leos, and 37 volunteers, we contributed a total of 2,496 service hours, directly benefiting 900 individuals! The total expenditure for these projects amounted to HK$217,586 (including HK$117,690 generously sponsored by various sectors), with all funds being securely managed, allocated, and disbursed by the Lions Club of Central Charity Foundation Limited to ensure maximum impact for the community.

🌟 2025/2026 Core Service Projects Review

1. Medical Health & Wellness Services

- Hong Kong Special Olympics Family Health Forum 2025
  - - Date & Venue: August 30, 2025 | Sha Tin Public School
    - Impact: 110 service hours contributed, benefiting 80 individuals.
    - Project Highlights: Centered around the theme “Positive Parenting, Care and Love,” the event featured Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) pulse diagnosis, wellness tip booths, AGE vascular health assessments, and a DIY colored sand aroma candle workshop. Our club has continuously supported the Special Olympics since 2000, organizing nearly 20 service projects to date. Notably, our Charter President, Lion Grace Miu Wan Fung, was honored by the Special Olympics and the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) with the prestigious “MISSION INCLUSION” award for her long-standing commitment to this project.
- Wong Tai Sin District Intergenerational Harmony Technology & Health Service Day
  - - Date & Venue: October 18, 2025 | Fung Tak Community Centre
    - Impact: 144 service hours contributed, benefiting 100 individuals.
    - Co-organizers: Wong Tai Sin District Office, Wong Tai Sin Youth Development Network, and Leo Club of Central.
    - Project Highlights: We were honored by the presence of Mr Thomas Wu, JP, District Officer (Wong Tai Sin). The service focused on vision screening, youth health (Health Navigator 365), and relieving hunger.
- Free Fatty Liver and Cardiovascular Disease Risk Screening for Ethnic Minorities
  - - Date & Venue: January 27, 2026 | The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council Tung Chung Multicultural Service Centre
    - Impact: 189 service hours contributed, benefiting 175 individuals.
    - Co-organizers & Sponsors: Jointly organized with the LCI District 303 Liver Disease Prevention and Education Committee and the Lions Club of Macau. The FibroScan screening tests were fully sponsored by Chong Lap (H.K.) Co. Ltd.

2. Underprivileged Group & Child Care Services

- Senior Citizens Month Respect-the-Elderly Poon Choi Feast
  - - Date & Venue: November 9, 2025 | Ta Kwu Ling Senior Citizens Society
    - Impact: 70 service hours contributed, benefiting 200 elderly individuals.
    - Co-organizers & Sponsors: Co-organized with the Ta Kwu Ling Senior Citizens Society. Distinguished guests included Regional Commander of New Territories North, representatives from the Anti-Triad & Crime Prevention Office (Boundary District) of the Hong Kong Police Force, and Lucky SING Mr. Kwan Yiu-ming. Fully sponsored by Chong Lap (H.K.) Co. Ltd.
- Rehab Journey: Green Nature Exploration
  - - Date & Venue: January 17, 2026 | Sai Kung Lions Nature Education Centre
    - Impact: 189 service hours contributed, benefiting 85 individuals.
    - Project Highlights: Provided guided exhibition tours and a hearty lunch at the Hearing Café for ill children and caregivers from Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Children’s Kidney Fund, and the Juvenile Stroke Association. This project was generously sponsored by Chong Lap (H.K.) Co. Ltd. with an amount of HK$11,440.
- The 1st Zone Joint Service: “Clean Campus, Stay Away from Drugs”
  - - Date & Venue: March 7, 2026 | Lions Club of Ho Tak Sum Primary School, Tin Shui Wai
    - Impact: 60 service hours contributed, benefiting 100 students.

3. Youth Development & Cross-Border Educational Care

- Hong Kong Youth Greater Bay Area Exploration Tour
  - - Date & Venue: March 20–22, 2026 | Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Foshan
    - Impact: Contributed a remarkable 924 service hours, leading 60 teachers and students from 3 Youth Colleges/VTC (Vocational Training Council) in Hong Kong on an immersive tech tour.
    - Itinerary Highlights: Visited the FAW-Volkswagen South China Base ID. Experience Center to learn about smart manufacturing technology, toured automated welding and assembly workshops, explored the Foshan National Defense Science and Technology Industrial Achievement Commercialization Platform, and paid respects at the Guangzhou Uprising Martyrs Cemetery for patriotic education. The tour concluded at the Shenzhen HighGreat Low-Altitude Drone Science Education Base with a 100-drone formation light show.
    - Special Thanks: This meaningful youth development project was magnanimously sponsored by Lion Sandra Tak Kwan Leung with a donation of HK$100,000!
- Visit to Lions Club of Central Special School in Xin’an County, Henan Province
  - - Date & Venue: April 17–20, 2026 | Xin’an Lions Club of Central Special School, Henan Province
    - Impact: 810 service hours contributed, celebrating with 100 students and teachers.
    - Project Background: This school was built as a continuation of LCI’s historic “SightFirst: China Action” initiative in the 1980s/90s. While performing cataract surgeries in Henan, our members identified a local need and built this special education school for children with intellectual disabilities, hearing impairments, and speech obstacles. Over 20 years of dedicated teaching, many early primary students have successfully integrated into society, and several graduates have even passed mainstream university entrance examinations.
