The service theme for our 2026-2027 President, Lion Monique Yip, is “LOVE”:

• E — Empowerment: Uplifting one another, supporting underprivileged students, and enabling the next generation to unleash their potential.

Here, everyone can experience a magnificent transformation, achieving personal growth while elevating others.

Our service initiatives for this year include:

1. Sustaining Elder Care: Honoring seniors as our primary focus through regular and diverse engagement activities.
2. Empowering Youth Horizons: Facilitating Greater Bay Area exploration trips to introduce smart technology and future career paths.
3. Driving Community Health: Reaching out to ethnic minorities and grassroots families for vital liver and vascular health screenings.
4. Executing Global Initiatives: Actively executing global service projects advocated by Lions Clubs International.

June, 2023, we had 15 members and their family members visited Dong Ao Elementary School of Nam Ao Village, Yilan Taiwan. The school was transformed into an experimental education school in 2016. There are 50 students in the school, mostly Atayal. In the past, aboriginal students could only receive general education. After the implementation of the Acts of Experimental Education, the school designed a series of courses following the tribal cultural context with the original intention of respecting the cultural subjectivity of aboriginal people, not only inheriting the cultural heritage of aboriginal people, but also to provide students of indigenous ethnic groups with more diverse learning options.

We donated NT$20,000 to Dong Ao Elementary School as support for the training and competition of the archery team.

We co-organised with Chong Lap (H.K.) Co Ltd, the 4^th round food distribution event was held at Tin Shui Community Centre, Tin Shui Estate for the elderly.

The 2022/2023 Annual Theme Project – the reading competition gradually progressed to a feverish stage.  In March, district competitions were held at the New Territories West and Tuen Mun Station, and the winners were selected to enter the finals.

Home Affairs Department and LCI District 303 (Hong Kong & Macao, China) co-organized an activity for youth and physically handicapped persons.  More than 400 primary and secondary school students together with physically handicapped persons participated in the “Lion Jumping Rope” and set an SDG world record at Wan Chai Temporary Promenade. We also advocate the collaboration between the Government and the general public on creating an accessible environment so as to achieve our goal of making “Equal Contributions for an Inclusive Society”.

Lions Club of Central has been awarded the “Caring Organisation” again under the “Caring Organisation Scheme 2023/24”. This is the fifteenth consecutive year that Lions Club of Central has received the Award and awarded a “15 Years Plus Caring Organisation” logo by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS).  The “Caring Organization Scheme” developed by HKCSS aims to build a cohesive society by inspiring corporate social responsibility through caring for the community, employees and the environment.
